I'm a commuter, for many years, I've worked about 30 miles from home. Now, in the world of commuting that's nothing, but a new Gallup poll says that 2 out of 5 people who commute three or more hours a day are pretty miserable! That's at least 90 minutes + each way and I'll move before doing that, so I can certainly understand the misery.
They says these folks are so stressed and worried that their entire day is spent in turmoil about their hectic schedule. One in three who have these super long commutes have chronic back and neck pain, are more likely to be obese, because they tend to eat more fast food.
My commute is short enough to be relatively pleasant. I use it to wake up fully in the morning, and as a "cool down" period on the way home. I know that I'm lucky with a 30 minute commute and I also know that a few wrecks or bad weather can sometimes turn my commute into an hour either way and then I begin to see what all the fuss is about.
How's your commute? TOPIC OF THE DAY:
(1) Do you commute? (defined as....verb; to travel regularly over some distance, as from a suburb into a city and back: He commutes to work by train).
