Talk about a captive audience... While stuck on the tarmac on a plane at a Beijing airport, The Philadelphia Orchestra, that was touring there, got in a little practice time and performed a number for the others who were stranded there for 3 LONG hours.
How they were able to perform the 6 minute piece so flawlessly in such a small space is beyond me, although my classical ear isn’t trained enough to hear a mistake even if there was one.
Of course people can still be rude even in circumstances such as these. You’ll hear at least one person’s phone go off, and at least one guy talking during the lower passages and had to be shhhh-ed, probably by his companion who was fighting serious potential Youtube embarrassment if someone got a shot of his big mouth.
